The children in our Casa community have the opportunity to practice yoga on a weekly basis with a Yoga teacher. Several articles in publications such as Reader’s Digest and Parents have enumerated benefits that strengthen the child’s mind-body connection. Yoga can aid in the development of the children’s physical strength, flexibility, balance and coordination. Yoga can also help the children learn how to care for their bodies. Furthermore, yoga can support the child’s mental and emotional health by reducing anxiety, developing focus and concentration, as well as boosting self-esteem and confidence.
Today’s Parent even included some animal-themed yoga poses that can be practiced at home.
