Moving forward with CWELCC to lower our fees for all families with children 0-6! January 1, 2025

Downtown Montessori programs are happy to continue our participation in the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care program which aims to lower fees for families with children aged 0 – 6 years in child care.

Since January 1, 2025, there have been adjustments to your childcare fees in alignment with the federal and provincial CWELCC framework. 

Confirmed monthly rates:

• Under 2: $478.50

• Under 3: $478.50

• Casa: $478.50

Happy Valentine's Day!

The children participated in a valentine exchange and it started with picking a friend's name out of a basket, decorating a felt valentine with gems, pompoms, metallic paper, ribbon and buttons, personalizing it, and then delivering their valentines at a special circle. Winter Fun

When it snowed a lot, we shoveled and sledded around and around, and made a mountain to climb and slide down. We played in the snow, made snow angels, and caught snowflakes with our tongue. We made the most of the snow and had wintery fun! (Click for full photos.)

Transferring

The transferring activities that the children do within the Under 2 classroom help to refine their eye-hand coordination, strengthen the muscles of the hand and wrist, foster concentration, and provide the child with the opportunity to practice daily activities. Lunar New Year!

We explored the celebration of the Lunar New Year recently through books and creative activities. We learned that the new year represents a time for new beginnings and fresh starts. We made lanterns and had the opportunity to dress in traditional garments. Kung-Hsi Fa-Ts’ai! (Click for more information.)
