Back to School!

The month of September is usually a month of transition in the Casa program. It marks the end of the summer program and the beginning of a new school year. Our Casa classrooms welcomed many children from the Under 3 Community this month.

To help our new friends and to refresh our continuing students, we began the year by reviewing the customs of the classroom, as well as reintroducing preliminary activities. These can include rolling and unrolling a mat, carrying a tray, tucking in a chair, walking on a line, and sorting objects into categories.

It is important to renew our learning of preliminary activities as they are a foundation for the day-to-day harmonious function of the classroom. These activities help build confidence and familiarity as the students progress to more complex activities.

We look forward to another great year in Casa!
