Sewing

In the Under 3 Community, sewing is one of the challenging activities as it includes a sequence of steps and the manipulation of two objects at the same time. Using hand-eye coordination and full concentration, the children are able  to sew on a card stock heart by following the holes on the paper. They are able to manipulate the needle in and out of the holes, making sure to turn the paper over as they move from one hole to the next. This activity helps to further develop their self-help skills. Once they are finished sewing, the children assist the teacher in tying a knot and cutting off the excess string, thus ending the activity.
