Washing Leaves of Plants

Child under 3 washing leaf of a plant

Plants bring a little piece of nature and the outdoors into our
Under 3 environment. Washing the leaves of the plants in our
classroom is one of our Practical Life activities. This activity
allows our children to help maintain the cleanliness and order
of their surroundings. It is important to teach the children to
care for things that grow. To wash the leaves of the plant,
the child uses a wet sponge and gently wipes away the dust
that has formed on the leaves.  For the young child, engaging in
purposeful work is a source of both pride and pleasure.
