Chinese New Year!

The Casa community celebrated Chinese New Year (also known as Spring Festival or Lunar New Year) with a variety of activities.  During the week, the children focused on two art activities.  First, they made three dimensional orange paper crafts as oranges are considered symbols of wealth and good luck.  Next, the children painted their own Chinese Coin Tree Art.  At circle, we read books to learn more about this holiday, listened to traditional folk tales, and performed the songs below.  The children also choreographed a special dance for “Chinese Dragon”.
