Ukulele

In addition to playing the Montessori bells, the older Casa children have also been learning how to play the ukulele weekly. A ukulele is a four-stringed member of the guitar family of musical instruments. With the aid of Alfred’s Kid’s Ukulele Course 1 (2015) by Ron Manus and L.C. Harnsberger, Adriana has been guiding the children in playing soprano ukulele. The Casa children have been playing many songs using the C, C7, F, and G7 chords. Some of these songs are Three Blind MiceLondon BridgeSkip to My Lou, Troubadour Song, and Rain Comes Down. Through their exposure to the ukulele, the children have also been exploring various music notation concepts such as notes, the staff, musical alphabet, clefs, and time signature.
