Dorothy’s Scones!

Dorothy, our Infinity Place chef, wanted to share her scones recipe as well as this message:

Authentic Irish Scones

2 oz margarine/butter, room temperature
8 oz all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 oz sugar
7 tbsp milk

1. Mix together all dry ingredients.
2. Blend in butter/margarine with fingers until mixture resembles a sandy texture.
3. Slowly add milk and blend into the mixture until it forms together. DO NOT overwork the dough as it will become tough- You may not need all the milk.
4. Lightly dust your work surface with flour and pat your dough onto a floured surface, shape into a square.
5. Cut into 12-16, 1 1/2 inch pieces, and place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
6. Bake at preheated 425°F oven on the middle rack for 12 minutes.

*You may add 1/4 cup of craisins, raisins or currants

*For savoury cheese scones- omit the sugar and add 2 oz of your favourite grated cheese.
