Joanna, from our Casa community, wanted to share this creative activity: “We paint the environment of the dinosaurs.”
Materials
- paper
- finger paints
Preparation (for parents):
On paper, draw a few images of dinosaurs (herbivore, long-necked, predator). You may copy them from any sources (e.g. online, books, etc.)
Creative Process:
We paint with our fingers, palms, and fists.
Our dinosaurs are very hungry, they have nothing to eat. Our mission is to feed them! We will paint grass with our fingers for small grass-eating dinosaurs. The dinosaurs with long necks like to eat the sweetest and most delicious leaves from the top of the trees. Then, we will paint a palm tree for a brontosaurus. The tree trunk can easily be painted with a side of a child’s palm and the leaves with two of their fingers.
What happens next for the predators? The child can paint and the parents can guess!
Dip your fingers, thumbs, and the side of your hand into the paint and press them down onto the paper.
We painted grass with our fingers.
We decided to paint two palm trees instead of one.
Of course, our dinosaur likes to eat some juicy leaves!
We enjoyed painting dots with our fingertips. These are stones!
We like painting grass and the dinosaur finds itself in the JUNGLE!
We finished the clouds for the long-necked dinosaur.
And this dinosaur finds itself in a cave!
