Refinement Of Movement Materials

Children under 3 working on activities Child under 3 cutting paper with scissors Child under 3 working on a puzzle

We offer a variety of materials that the children enjoy working with that encourage the development and coordination of hand movements. These activities help to foster small movements of the hands, offer a number of variations for grasping, eye/hand co-ordination, and  encourage the use of two hands working together as well as separately. The materials help to refine the use of the fingers and the pincer grasp, encourage tactile and visual discrimination of items, and develop sequencing. The materials include puzzles, scissor cutting, shape sorters, a variety of pegs and dowels, as well as opening and closing items to name a few. The materials help to inspire growth and independence in the child.
