Playing in the Snow

Child under 3 shovelling snow

A feeling of wonderment overcomes a child as they explore the snow with their sense of sight, touch, and, at times, taste!  Playing in the snow takes gross-motor skills to a new level.  The slippery terrain helps improve balance and coordination as they adapt to moving through (and manipulating) various textures of snow, from soft or hard to slushy, crunchy, or slippery.  The children can often be seen making snow angels, shovelling, and climbing our small snow hills.
