Care of the Outdoor Environment

As the season begins to change and Autumn leaves begin to fall, the outdoor playground fills with debris from the vast trees around our beautiful environment. This creates a perfect opportunity for the children to engage in practical life activities (care of the outdoor environment).

The children in the Under 2 classroom help to care for their outdoor environment by using hand brooms and dustpans to collect leaves and sticks. Care of outdoor environment exercises foster love for the environment and help children connect and engage with nature. This practical life activity also helps the children develop coordination, concentration, a sense of personal independence, and a sense of order.
