Yoga With Cheeba

Children doing a 'palming' yoga pose with Cheeba with their hands over their eyes, their fingers touching their forehead, and the heels of their hands resting on their cheeks.

The casa classrooms participate in yoga class once a week in small groups with their instructor Cheeba. Introducing yoga at this age helps the children learn to regulate their big emotions in any given situation. Learning breathing techniques improves mental clarity which is invaluable for a child when they are feeling frustrated or overwhelmed. Yoga promotes concentration, discipline, and focus in a child as well as helps strengthen muscles, coordination, and balance. While yoga is not about getting the poses perfect, practicing each week encourages patience in the child as it takes time and determination to improve.
