Care of the environment is an important part of the Montessori classroom. Through practical life activities such as sweeping the floor, washing the table, and cleaning up spills, children learn to take pride in caring for their classroom. In doing these activities, children can develop a high level of concentration, develop a sense of order, take pride in completing a job, increase independence, develop respect for their community, and improve fine motor skills.
