Happy Valentine’s Day!

A child gluing decorations on a purple felt valentine

For Valentine’s Day, the children of Casa West created something special! The children participated in a valentine exchange and it started with picking a friend’s name out of a basket. Each child decorated their Valentine using gems, pompoms, colourful metallic paper, ribbon, and buttons. The children used glue to paste the material onto two heart-shaped felt pieces. Some children sewed buttons with a needle and thread.  With the help of a teacher, the two felt hearts were glued together. The children completed their art by writing the name of their valentine and their own name, with guidance. We had a special circle on Valentine’s Day where the children delivered their valentines. Happy Valentine’s Day!
