Ancient Aboriginal Legend
As the Aboriginal Legend Goes:
“If anyone desires a wish to come true, they must capture a butterfly and whisper that wish to it.
Since they make no sound, they can’t tell the wish to anyone but the Great Spirit
So by making the wish and releasing the butterfly, it will be taken to the heavens and be granted.
Today we have chosen to keep this tradition alive by performing this unique form of Indian celebration.
Please add your own silent wish to assist them on their way.”
After watching our caterpillars undergo a metamorphosis into butterflies, we released them into our garden and beyond. We wished them well and added our wishes for world peace, and for everyone around the world to have enough food to eat; clean, plentiful water; somewhere safe to live; and to have people to love and to love them. Maybe the butterflies will come back to visit!
