Acrylic Pour Painting With Diana!

Diana's Acrylic Pour Painting with family

Diana did this Acrylic Pour Painting with her family. This looks like a lot of fun and it turned out really beautiful, too!

Acrylic Pour Painting:

Pour Painting is a technique where you mix the paints by layering the paints in a cup, then pouring it on to a canvas and letting colours mix creating a fun abstract painting.

Supplies:
•canvas
•white acrylic paint
•acrylic paint colours
•cup
•garbage bag
•a pair of scissors
•latex gloves
•a paint brush
•foil tray to hold the canvas

Instructions:

Step 1 – gather all your supplies.

Step 2 – prep your station by cutting a garbage bag open and laying it on top of your work station. Put gloves on as it will get messy.

Step 3 – paint your canvas white, which is called a “toned background”. This allows the paint to spread and not soak through the canvas.

Step 4 – pour the paints into a cup by layering the paint one by one on top of each other. The number of layers you want is up to you.

Step 5 – pour the cup of paint in the center of the canvas and allow the paint to flow. Tilt the canvas in each direction to allow the colours to interact creating an abstract fluid art piece.

Step 6 – let your painting dry in the foil tray. How long depends on how much paint you used and how big the canvas is, but most drying times are about 2- 10 days.

Have fun!!!
