Sensory is accessible to the children throughout the day and special sensory activities are programmed twice a day. Sensory activities can include coloured rice, pasta, cotton balls, goop, playdough etc. As children explore the texture, consistency and colours of different materials, they strengthen their dexterity and fine-motor skills.
In these photos, the children are exploring their sense of touch using their feet! We often use our hands during sensory play as we explore new textures, but this sensory activity is a little different. They walked along various materials and explored the different sensations through their feet, comparing how each felt. It is a great activity to help with balance and coordination, and can be fun to create at home.
