Leaves, Leaves and More Leaves!

Our Under 3 Montessori community participates in keeping our environment beautiful and well maintained. In Autumn, we rake up the fallen leaves and jump on them when the opportunity arises! We collect the leaves and place them in a yard waste bag. What a wonderful way to appreciate our environment and promote being an active participant in our community!

Snack in the Under 2 Classroom

The children in our Under 2 classroom are invited to share a snack at our child-sized table and chairs, building their social skills, grace and courtesy. Age appropriate dishes and utensils are used to help with self-serving and self-feeding, aiding in the growth of the children’s confidence and abilities.

French Class

The children participate in our weekly French class in small groups. Elisa incorporates stories, games, songs, and other fun activities that encourage repetition of basic vocabulary like colours, numbers, shapes, and family members. It is wonderful to see children pick up French books independently and recreate the stories they have read.

Painting!

Painting and printmaking create wonderful opportunities for infants to learn while they express themselves creatively. They enhance their tactile and sensory skills, experiment with cause and effect, and work on their palmar and pincer grasp, eye-hand coordination, and two hands working together in mid line.

Cloth Washing

Practical life activities enhance a child’s gross and fine motor control while building self-confidence, thinking outside the self, and empathy for others. These types of activities give a child a sense of belonging and the satisfaction of being productive citizens in their community.
