For Remembrance Day, we talked about the Poppy and how it is a symbol to help us acknowledge and remember our soldiers and the freedoms they have helped us gain. We decorated poppies and posted the art work with the poem “In Flanders Fields”. We talked about how privileged we are to live in a society such as we do in Canada!

Practical life activities are opportunities for children to participate and contribute to their community. Arranging fresh flowers enhances eye-hand coordination, refinement of movement, concentration, aesthetic sense, and coordinates the use of both hands working together. What a beautiful flower arrangement!

Working on inserting coins or washers into a slotted box enhances the pincer grasp and hand-eye coordination, while opening and closing the box with a sliding lid encourages both hands working together.

We read an exciting book by Graeme Base called “The Eleventh Hour”. Our Casa children found clues and solved the mystery. We won’t spoil it for you but It was definitely someone we did not suspect!
